Ruth White, a junior at Orono High in Maine, finished 17th at the Champs Sports Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. White covered the 5-kilometer layout in 17:55.5 to contribute to the Northeast Regional lineup capturing back-to-back girls team titles for the first time since 1991-92 by a 32-38 margin against the South. White also gathered the signatures of several of her fellow national finalists on a Champs Sports T-shirt as a memento of her experience.
