Sophia Kennedy Discusses Foot Injury - Champs Sports Cross Country Championships 2022
Published by
Sophia Kennedy, a senior at Park Tudor School in Indiana, recaps aggravating a tendon injury in her foot in the final mile of the race that resulted in her collapsing and not being able to finish at the Champs Sports Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. Kennedy was in sixth place at the 2-mile mark, seeking All-America honors at the event for the second year in a row after securing seventh last season. Kennedy and senior teammate Gretchen Farley, who finished 19th in 17:58.7, became the first pair of female athletes from the same school to qualify in consecutive years since Nicole Blood, Hannah Davidson, Lindsey Ferguson and Caitlin Lane of Saratoga Springs High in New York all competed in 2004-05. |
