Now, the hard part begins for Anna Rohrer.
Mishawaka High School’s phenomenal sophomore cross country runner earned a Foot Locker national championship Saturday in San Diego.
But, compared to the expectations that will be piled upon her back the next two years, that 5,000-meter race at Balboa Park may seem like a piece of cake.
Her immediate plans are pretty clear.
“Anna’s taking some time off,” said Mishawaka coach Chris Kowalewski. “She’s been running hard races since August. It’s time for a break.”
After that, though, she will likely find her athletic life has changed forever.
