Boys-To-Men

Foot Locker to NCAA's

The list of Foot Locker National Champions reads like a who’s who list of modern American distance running.

In light of Edward ‘King’ Cheserek’s impressive feat this season of winning the D1 crown as a freshman, we thought it would be interesting to see how many, if any, of the other Foot Locker individual champions went on to be NCAA D1 individual champions like him.

Interestingly enough, so far no female that has won the Foot Locker title has gone on to win the other pinnacle, as a measure of success in one sense, winning the NCAA D1 trophy, though many have come close.

The Boys to Men side feature an impressive 5 athletes that went from the top of the high school pyramid as Foot Locker Champions to the pinnacle of collegiate distance running as NCAA D1 Champions.  The list features only one other athlete that has pulled off the same achievement as Cheserek by winning Foot Locker as a senior then the next year winning the NCAA D1 title the next as a freshman, Bob Kennedy.

Check out the lists below of comparable years of competition!
