Michigan runner wins duel at Morley Field

Rarely do you get the kind of footrace drama Michigan’s Grant Fisher and Washington’s John Dressel provided at the 34th Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Morley Field.

Usually you get what Pennsylvania’s Tessa Barrett did to the girls field — win easily, covering the 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 16 seconds.

Fisher and Dressel waged an epic battle from the 2-mile mark, first one and then the other making moves.
