Claire Stegall, a junior at Nolensville High in Tennessee, was unable to finish the 5-kilometer girls championship race after being knocked down in the first mile and enduring a foot injury that resulted in her stopping just past the 2-mile mark at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif. Stegall reflects on her overall experience at the event and being part of the victorious South girls roster, which prevailed for the first time since 2016 and just the third time in meet history, a lineup that included fellow Tennessee competitors Jaynie Halterman of Independence High and Abby Faith Cheeseman of Webb School in Bell Buckle.
